I used Romans after an average experience with my previous agents, and I was surprised at the differences.
Simon in particular was very helpful and kept me informed at all times.
As a seller this is key, regardless of if you sell, you need to be kept in the loop.
Unfortunately due to a change in personal circumstances I was not able to complete my sale, but Simon, ensured everything went smoothly.
When I do go back on the market, the first person I will be calling is Simon.
Would Definitely Recommend

Bernadette was excellent at making me aware of properties that were relevant to me. She reacted to what I told her about what I was looking for (much better than any other estate agents I came across). She helped through the whole process of selecting the property and was attentive and helpful throughout.

Very good & fast feedback after each viewing. When I left a message for Bernadette or Steve to call me back, I always got a call back the same day! Both Steve & Bernadette were exceptionally polite, professional & helpful. A credit to Romans Estate Agents.

I have been looking for a rental property for over a year, and have been a very fussy client !!! I have dealt with many agents, looking for the right property. Bernadette and her team at Romans, have always been courteous, friendly, always letting me know about properties they were selling by email or phone or post, and generally efficient. They always kept me up to date and tried to arrange viewings at a time to suit me. They let me know of new properties they were taking on speedily.
Should I be looking to buy again, i would certainly use Romans again.

Having dealt with a number of estate agents across different companies in my search for a property, it was a refreshing change to speak to someone who was actually interested in finding me a property to buy and seemed to have my best interests at heart. Despite having lost out on a house prior to my current purchase I was keen to continue looking for a property with Romans as I trusted they would do a good job, which has been further confirmed with my recent purchase. I have been particularly impressed with Bernadette, who's approachable manor and interpersonal skills have made what could been a very difficult process much less stressful, she has been extremely efficient at returning calls and queries, given helpful guidance and showed a genuine interest in making sure everything ran smoothly within an extremely tight timeline. The market place being a little sluggish it has taken considerable time to agree a sale, but the Romans team never lost focus or drive and ultimately found me a buyer. I have also used the Romans conveyance team to effect the sale and would like to say just how efficient the process has been - taking just 6 weeks from offer to completion - and all at a very reasonable price indeed.

1. I was facing problems with another Sales and Lettings Agent. I found Romans very helpful and supportive towards my situation.
Both Bernadette and George took time out and went through possible options to move things forward.
Bernadette has also been in touch recently for an update to see how things were. Its nice to know she kept in touch, which was very helpful.

1. Steve Adby is commercially sophisticated, diligent and highly credible. He knows his market extremely well and at all times provided first class, consistent and committed advice and support throughout our successful sale process. Unusually, there were no "surprises".
He was very ably supported by Paula Thomson, who has both the patience of a saint and the relentlessness required to proactively manage and close her enormous transactional workload.
Both also managed to work at all times with no shortage of good humour and positivity.
Very highly recommended.

1. I felt that the service that Romans provided me especially Steve was excellent. From the moment that my contact details were passed to Steve he contacted me straight away to arrange a time to carry out the valuation. When he arrived he was on time and very professional. He explained the whole process to me from start to end and how Romans would advertise my property.
I was constantly kept updated throughout the whole progress. Even when it came to buyers pulling out of the sale he told me straight away and always kept my spirits up that there would be a next buyer soon. He went above and beyond the service level that I expected and for that I would absolutely recommend Romans.

The property had been on the market with another agent without success. Romans(Steve) provided good advice about the marketing strategy he thought we should adopt. Once we decided to use them we had good feedback and Bernadette then took on the marketing of the property. She kept us informed at all stages of the process, and we found the suggestion and the use of the conveyancing service made the sale easier to handle.

Like other reviewers we too had used another agent for quite a period of time. We eventually switched to Romans after a niggling feeling that we were not really being served too well. We were immediately clear that we were now in the hands of a much more professional organisation. George Steedman, the branch manager, gave excellent advice at the initial stages and to my surprise I received calls from their H.O to check that I was happy with the service that I was receiving. I was constantly "kept in the loop" regarding the steps that they were taking to maintain interest and had reports on every viewing.
Bernadette in the Sales Department was superb and once they had found a buyer I was still kept up to speed by Paula in their Customer Services Department.
My advice would be listen to their advice regarding what is a realistic price in these difficult times and then let Romans do the rest. I cannot praise them highly enough.

After I had accepted an offer at the begining of July and the property taken off the market; there followed a prolonged delay for which the buyer and their solicitor each blamed the other. In September Bernadette Martin, Slales Manager, became involved and took appropriate action. This included hand delivering a letter to the buyer's home on Saturday mornng after a week of phone messages went unanswered. I was kept fully advised by Bernadette of everything she was doing and we finally completed on October 7th. There were no outstanding issues from my side and the buyer's mortgage had been agreed very early in the process .I had excellent support from everyone I dealt with at Romans but it needed someone of Bernadette's expertise to complete this protracted sale.

The agent Jonathan Bates, helped in contacting the vendor initially to liaise on purchase price and also to renegotiate the asking price when issues were found with the property. Jon also set up quotes on all the mandatory works in order to facilitate us renegotiating on the price to take those repairs into account. Initially, having dealt with other local estate agents, we found Jon's attitude and professional but friendly manner to be highly refreshing and I believe he was a personal influence in our desire to progress with Romans. He has an excellent manner and presents himself and Romans very well. He is highly objective and helpful, finding a good line in representing both buyer and vendor fairly based on his prior experience. The vendor for this property is overseas which necessitated repeat tries on contacting which Jon dealt with in a patient and steady manner. I reckon this young man is an asset to your business. I'd seek him out for any further house purchases we may make.

Very quick, friendly and efficient service. Amy was really informative when she came to visit us and was extreamely passionate about the company without being too pushy.We only had our house on the market for 2 weeks before Romans got us a buyer. From then on Paulas help was fantastic and she did all the chasing for us which took the work load off us completely. Ths is our first house move and we would only use Romans in the future due to the positive experience we had with them first time round.

Although the service was a bit hasty to begin with the service we received from Jonathan in the Reading branch for the sale and Paula in Tilehurst to exchange was fantastic, we couldn't have asked for more from either of them, they were both friendly, informative and extremely helpful. Although we had heard mixed reviews of Romans, the service we received towards the end was faultless

Friendly, fast, efficient service. When we found a property we liked within days of ours going on the market, Romans worked hard to find us a buyer and we sold within 10 days. Professional, friendly staff on hand whenever you need.
